Even Business Owners need a break!

As much as the new year is a perfect time for setting your goals for the year ahead, and reflecting on the year that has passed, you also need to use the holiday period as an opportunity to take a break, if only for a few days.

If you are feeling overwhelmed with the all the things that you need to do in order to prepare for a break and some time off, follow these tips to overcome seasonal stress:

  1. Take a long hard look at that to-do list, and if you don’t have one make one, then prioritise – what really must be done, what can be delayed and what can be delegated.
  2. Minimise interruptions, whether from email, Facebook or office noise – schedule some ‘do not disturb’ time for yourself and really focus on the important tasks. Distracting thoughts should be scribbled down and actioned later.
  3. Get out! When it all seems too much, change your environment – get some fresh air, go for a walk.
  4. Choose your party – you don’t have to go to them all! You have a choice about how you invest your time, energy and money.

If you follow these tips when it comes to the holiday period, you will be ready to relax and enjoy your time with your family and friends away from your business, so that you may return in 2019 refreshed and rejuvenated for the year ahead.

The team at Realise Business look forward to supporting you in your business and contributing to your success in 2019, but in the meantime enjoy your holiday break and see you in the new year.

The offices of Realise Business will be closed from 21 December 2018 and re-open on Monday 7 January 2019.
