The NSW Government is celebrating Back to Business week and it’s putting the call out to local businesses across NSW to join in and take advantage of a week jam packed full of free and low cost events, seminars and workshops all about business.
Small business is the lifeblood of the New South Wales economy with almost 98% of all businesses run as small businesses. Sunday 26th February, marks the start of a week-long celebration that brings together the NSW Government, businesses, councils and communities from metropolitan and regional areas across the state.
Realise Business and other Business Connect advisors, local councils and business groups are working with the NSW Government and Business Connect to roll out a series of free and low cost events covering topics like how to start a business, plan for growth, marketing strategies, customer service, digital innovations, cash flow and social media.
These events will run from 26 February to March 4. Some highlights include:
Breakfast with an Entrepreneur – Thursday 2nd March, Sans Souci
As part of Back to Business Week Realise Business, The Sutherland Shire Council and Georges River Council have organised a Breakfast with an Entrepreneur event featuring Star Car Wash Founder, Martin Dowling. This event will provide a great opportunity for businesses to hear the secrets behind Martin’s success that has seen his business grow from a startup to more than 60 sites across Australia with a turnover of $36 million per annum.
Tickets to the event are only $19.50 for Realise Business members and $26 for Non-Members thanks to funding that has been provided as part of Back to Business Week. The event will be held at the St George Motor Boat Club and you can book here.
Realise Business is encouraging businesses to take advantage of this great event that includes a full breakfast, networking opportunities as well as the opportunity to showcase your business and ask questions of a successful entrepreneur.
Sydney Thought Leaders Series: Meet the Future Head On – Wednesday 1 March, Darling Harbour
Deputy Premier and Minister for Small Business, John Barilaro, is also hosting a free event in Sydney’s CBD ‘Sydney Thought Leader Series: Meet the Future Head On’ that will show businesses how to take advantage of new technology, new ways of working and new markets. Speakers at this event include Terry Rawnsley, Principal & Partner, SGS Economics and Planning and Karen Borg, Chief Executive Officer, Jobs for NSW.
